Each player can become the owner of a baby pet — a kookaburra, cougar or buffalo. Over time, the adorable baby will learn to buff and restore the mana and health of the owner and become a battle assistant. Summon your pet during levelling to share the experience, and do not forget to feed it so the baby grows up faster and becomes an irreplaceable companion.
Kookaburra, cougar and buffalo receive 10% of the owner's experience, which makes levelling a pet long and painful. In addition, due to the peculiarities of the game mechanics, baby pets are a favourite target of all aggressive monsters, which means buying Blessed Scroll of Resurrection for Pets NG can hit your budget hard if you do not have the Resurrection Lv. 1 skill.
If you have firmly decided to become the owner of one of these fragile creatures, then there are 4 options to get the desired pet:
Baby Kookaburra Ocarina NG | Baby Cougar Chime NG | Baby Buffalo Panpipe NG |
Improved Kookaburra Ocarina NG | Improved Cougar Chime NG | Improved Buffalo Panpipe NG |
A pet is summoned by clicking on a special item in the character's inventory or on the skill panel. A pet cannot be summoned if the character is in combat or other creatures are summoned.
You can unsummon a pet using an action in the pet window. If the character leaves the game, the pet is recalled automatically, except when dead.
Pet control commands are in the pet window. To open it, click on the pet or the pet status window. Commands may be moved to the skill panel for convenience
Name
Set a pet name. Use this function to name your pet. The name can be up to 16 characters long. Names are unique and cannot be used by other players. The name cannot be changed.
Pay attention!
On Masterwork, you can change the pet's name.
Change Movement Mode | Your pet will either follow you or stay still. Use the command to leave your pet in a safe place or to order it to follow you. |
Attack | Use the command to send your pet to attack your target. After the target dies, the pet will retain its movement settings — it will remain in place or return to its owner. |
Stop | Use the command to stop all active pet actions. |
Pickup | Use the command to pick up items dropped by a monster or thrown to the ground. Picked-up items will appear in the pet's inventory. |
Unsummon pet | Use the command to recall your pet. You can't unsummon if the pet is in combat or its hunger bar is below 50%. |
Move | Use the command to send your pet to the selected target and follow it. |
Heal control | Use this command to prevent your pet from healing your character. |
Pay attention!
The pet will not obey the owner if the character is 20 or more levels younger than the pet.
A pet is a living being that, like all organisms, requires food to survive. When its hunger level falls below 50%, the pet becomes hungry and cannot be unsummoned. A hungry pet moves and attacks at a slower pace, and if its hunger level reaches zero, pet will die and disappear permanently. To avoid this, make sure to feed your pet regularly.
Baby Pet Food Baby Spice NG is sold by the NPC Pet Manager, who can be found in every city.
Drag the purchased food into your pet's inventory. The pet will eat it when the hunger indicator drops below 55%. You can also feed your pet manually if it is very hungry. To do this, click on the food in your pet's inventory. You can drag the food to the skill bar to simplify the manual feeding process.
Pay attention!
On Masterwork, the hunger bar size and feed efficiency have been increased.
If the hunger indicator drops to zero, the pet will disappear completely, not immediately, but after 7 days.
Pets have inventory for storing equipment, food, and other items. However, there are limitations — soul and spirit shots, arrows, and other consumables cannot be placed in the pet's inventory. That means pets cannot be used as extra storage or a "spare pocket."
You can store healing potions in your pet's inventory to help keep it healthy during combat. However, pets cannot use these potions on their own. To use them effectively, place the potions on your skill bar or keep the pet's inventory window open, so you can activate them when needed. Similarly, antidotes and potions that boost running or attack speed must be used manually in the same way.
Pay attention!
On Masterwork servers, pets can't pick up and transfer to their inventory any items other than healing potions, herbs, pet equipment, soul shots, beast shots and pet food.
To protect your little one from aggressive monsters, buy him some strong armor. You can equip special armor and jewellery on a baby pet of any size and age. For new clothes for your friend, contact the NPC Pet Manager, who can be found in every city. Don't forget about Blessed Beast Spiritshot NG to speed up spells and enhance your pet's healing magic.
To equip a pet, drag weapons and armor into its inventory and right-click on the item. The equipped item is highlighted and remains in the inventory even after the pet is unsummoned. If the pet escapes from its owner due to hunger or death, all equipment will move to the character's warehouse.
Pay attention!
The pet cannot be transferred to another player with items left in the pet's inventory.
If there is no level difference penalty, a baby pet earns a percentage of the experience gained by its owner when defeating monsters or raid bosses. From levels 1 to 19, the pet receives 30% of the owner's experience; from levels 20 to 49, it earns 10%; and from level 50 onward, it gets 5%. Pets do not receive experience from quest rewards.
There is no level difference penalty if the pet's level is no more than 10 levels higher and no more than 5 levels lower than the owner. Otherwise, the experience-sharing proportions between the pet and the owner are adjusted. Below is data collected during testing on the Masterwork server. Please note that data is gathered empirically and may vary across different chronicles.

You may Improve your pet at level 55. To perform the evolution, contact any Pet Manager and select the line "Pet Development" in the dialogue. Before evolution, summon the pet and remove all items from its inventory. Make sure that you only have one pet summon item in your inventory.
A pet, like any living creature, can die. When this happens, the pet will remain at the location of its death and will not be recalled if the owner exits the game. However, if the owner uses a teleport scroll, the pet will be transported along with the character. There are three ways to resurrect a pet:
If you are not a healer and are interested in levelling up your pet as quickly as possible, then your choice is Blessed Scroll of Resurrection for Pets NG , which restores 100% of the pet's lost experience. The scroll is sold by the Priests of Dawn and Dusk for 6,000 Ancient Adena.
If you do not watch your pet, it can leave you forever. That happens in two cases:
In these cases, the item for summoning the pet disappears from the character's inventory. All items from the pet's inventory will move to the character's warehouse.
Baby pets are not only a headache and increased expenses but also an incredibly charming companion and an investment in a more comfortable future. At the initial levels, levelling babies is accompanied by nerves, tears and expenses on resurrection scrolls.
Pets have specialized equipment, including armor and jewellery, which can enhance their abilities. You can purchase this equipment from the Pet Manager, an NPC available in every city. If the best equipment is out of your budget, consider starting with lower-quality gear and upgrading it over time. The costs for equipment and improvements are detailed at the end of this article.
On Masterwork servers, pets have an experience rate corresponding to their level. For example: For the first stage, the EXP rate corresponds to the settings 1-29 level rate x3, 30-39 level rate x2. Based on this:
Pay attention!
In the Masterwork, pets received some nice changes.
The abilities of the cougar, buffalo and kookaburra are now the same — each pet gives all types of buffs and restores health and mana.
New skills were added to pet actions:
Warrior Effects
With the help of new skills, you may control the functions of your pet:
The levelling rate of Improved Pets differs from that of babies — they receive 35% of the experience from the owner. The penalty on experience for the difference in levels is described in the Leveling section. It is also worth noting that Improved Pets eat only Improved Baby Pet Food NG , food for babies will not suit them.
All Improved Pets restore mana equally. The Mana Regeneration skill appears at level 55 and improves every 5 levels. Mana Regeneration is applied automatically when the owner's mana is less than 80%. The skill is used even in peaceful mode.
Pay attention!
If the level difference between the master and the pet exceeds 15 levels, a penalty will be applied to the skill, reducing the amount of mana restored.
If the level difference between the master and the pet exceeds 24 levels, the skill will no longer restore mana.
The amount of mana restored depends on the pet's level:
