Skill enchanting — one of the most important mechanics, that became available after the third class change.
Unfortunately, many players underestimate the importance of enchanting skills. This happens for various reasons — insufficient gaming experience, reluctance to understand complex mechanics, or lack of available information. In this article we will try to explain in simple terms why skill enchanting is important and how it will improve your character.
Item | Description |

On Masterwork codexes can be obtained by hunting monsters, for completing a quest for the third profession, and as the reward for some missions.
In the basic game codexes are awarded for completing a quest for the third profession, sold for epaulettes and drops from monsters.
Skills, available for enchanting, must be learned to the maximum level.
On High Five chronicles and Masterwork servers skill enchanting occurs in a special interface window.
On the Interlude and Gracia Final chronicles, you have to talk to a master of your race and specialization to enchant your skills.

Enchant skills of the 2nd profession for free to +4. For enchanting to +5, the price is as it was for +1.
Enchant skills of the 3rd profession for free up to +1. For enchanting to +2, the price is as it was for +1.
The chance to successfully enchant a skill for free still depends on the character's level.
Masterwork offers to each class not only reworked skills, but also updated branches for its enchanting. Some branches were reworked, others were merged, and others were deleted due to irrelevance. We made a lot of work, so players can reveal their character in a new way and increase its combat potential.
Several main branches of skill enchanting and their effects:
Branch | Description |
---|---|
Power |
Increases skill power The branch will help you to do more physical or magical damage by your skills.
|
Attribute attack (Fire/Water/Wind/Earth/Holy/Dark) |
Increases attack attribute The branch allows you to increase your attack attribute by enchanting a skill, a good choice during the attribute system add stage. However, you should not stay on this branch when the enemy’s equipment is inlaid to the maximum attribute. For elemental skills available a basic attribute branch, for the other, there are several elemental options. |
Duel |
Increases the damage dealt by the skill during PvP and PvE Kind of "Power", but with modifications. This branch increases damage dealt both during battles with other characters and while killing monsters. A good choice if your skill has this upgrade tree available — it will increase your damage during PvP at the late stage of server development, without losing strength while hunting monsters, when almost all players have the attribute resistance up to the maximum. |
Chance |
Increases the skill success chance This branch is suitable for debuffs or attacking skills with a negative effect on the target. |
Range |
Increases the casting range of the skill Great choice if you often lack cast range and don't have a more appropriate improvement branch. Do not underestimate this branch, because good positioning in battle gives a huge advantage and often decides the outcome of the battle. |
Cost |
Decreases skill MP consumption Suitable for skills with high mana consumption. With sufficient improvement, it will reduce the MP costs for using the skill by almost a half. Would also be a great choice for switchable skills (toggle). |
Decrease Penalty |
Reduces skill penalty effect With this branch everything is quite simple. If your skill has a negative effect, for example decreases moving speed, and you don't like it — choose this branch, the penalty will decrease as skill improves. |
Swiftness |
Increases attack speed bonus A skill improvement branch mostly for passive skills. When choosing this branch, a bonus to attack speed, from the passive skill, increases or appears. The effect has been reworked and become smoother. |
Defence |
Increases physical defense bonus There is an option for both passive and active skills, an excellent choice if you want to increase your character's defensive stats, or further reduce your opponent's defense.
|
In addition to the reworked basic improvement branches, new combined branches also been added, for example: Power + Distance, Distance + Cost, Power + Cost.
Pay attention!
When enchanting any physical skills that can initially cause critical damage, the chance of critical damage with a skill increases for PvE, but not for PvP.
P. Critical Rate for skills depends on skill level, and enhancement increases its level. For example:
Enchanting skills increases their actual level (magic_lvl). The last levels of the second profession skills are studied at level 74, but to effectively use these skills at higher character levels, you have to increase the level of the skill — this is what enchanting is needed for.
It is important to know!
The difference between the skill level and the target level affects skills success chance (for debuffs).
For example: a level 85 character with +0 skills attacks another level 85 character. The server assesses this situation as follows: a level 74 skill is applied to a level 85 character. Based on this difference, the success chances are calculated.
In pursuit of the best equipment and epic jewelry, players forget about improving the basic parameters, that have a greater impact on a character's strength and effectiveness than expensive items.
The chance of successful enchant depends on the character's level. When the character level increases, the chance of enchant also increases.
We present recommendations for enchanting skills at levels 79-85 for maximum effectiveness. For each character level there set enchantment level, that is necessary for different tasks:
Masterwork uses enchant chances corresponding to the High Five chronicles.
